Edward Leininger (Fall 1966)

Ed Leininger, 74, of Mishawaka, IN., passed away unexpectedly at his home at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Ed was born on September 9, 1948, in Mishawaka to William and Elnora (La Free) Leininger.

In 1969 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakeville, IN Ed married Linda Warner who survives along with their children; Jeff (Jennifer) Leininger, Brenda (Brian) Beehler, Joe (Kristy) Leininger and Chad (Katie) Rink, seven grandchildren; Jordan (Priscilla) Leininger, Megan Beehler, Jasmine Leininger, Jared Beehler, Jake Leininger, Luke Leininger and Lexi Leininger and his siblings; Mary Jester and Joan Platz. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Abigail.

Ed graduated from Penn High School in 1966 and Purdue University in 1970 with a degree in Agricultural.

His greatest joy came from being with his family.

Ed has farmed in this community for over 50 years. He is a sixth-generation farmer. As owner of Leininger Farms he and his family had a livestock and grain operation as well as a pumpkin patch and a corn maze.

Ed was a 4-H leader, a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

A rosary service will be recited at 2:30 on Monday, May 15, followed by visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 16, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger with one hour of visitation one hour prior to services. Monsignor William C. Schooler will officiate.
